Our Participations

Our unique works at the national level
The Conservation House has a variety of unique works at the national level, the most important of which are: manufacturing acid-free, high purity paper according to international specifications for manuscripts conservation.
It also has a qualified staff who are capable of conserving manuscripts leathers, which are considered an integral part of the identity of the manuscript.
In addition to sealing the leathers of the Omani manuscript books with the Omani seal, and other books with their traditional seals, by pressing as was carried out in the past, not by burning.
Its staff also possess the necessary knowledge of sewing manuscript books in the traditional Omani way that was used in the past, and weaving them using the same stitches that was used in Omani manuscripts.
Weaving is considered an extinct craft that the Conservation House staff succeeded in reviving.
The Conservation House staff also possess the necessary knowledge to manufacture safe boxes for manuscript books, free of acidity, according to international specifications, without the use of pins, nails or harmful materials.
They are also capable of perfectly simulating manuscript books, i.e. making exact copies of them.
In addition, they have developed mechanisms to remove most types of thermal packaging from papers, which usually lead to damage and destruction in case they are not removed.
Our achievements at the national level
Our insinuation began its activities in book maintenance work since 1993 as a voluntary work, after which it won the Sultan Qaboos Award for Voluntary Work in its first session in 2011 in the maintenance of manuscripts and publications. It also won the Cultural Creativity Award as the best cultural project in 2018 from the Omani Society for Writers and Literates.
The Conservation House project was transformed from a voluntary to commercial organization on November 5th, 2015.
Categories which our organization is their best choice
